The scene narrates the moment in which the Roman consul Decius Mus sacrificed himself in battle to give victory to his army, in the battle of Vesuvius in 339 BC. Several series about Decius Mus were woven in different European workshops which can be seen in different European museums such as the Royal Palace of Madrid. Measurements: 288 x 440 cm. Estimate: 16,000 € - 24,000 € (17,879 USD – 26,818 USD)—Lot 0774: “Wool and silk rug Regalos de Artemisa, Foubourg Saint-Marcer Workshop, Paris, first quarter of the 17th century.” Guillaume Dumee was the designer and the board itself is attributed to Laurent Guyot ( 1575-1644). The rug represents the scene from Los regalos which is inspired by the poem that was written in 1561 by Nicolas Houel as a tribute to Catalina de Medicis, second wife of Henry IV. Measurements: 400 x 300 cm. Estimate: 16,000 €- 24,000 € (17,879 USD – 26,818 USD)—Lot 0968: “Large table in malachite and bronze, Empire style, 20th century.” Resting upon on four caryatids and cup with applied sibyls. Measurements: 81 x 130 cm. Estimate: 15,000 € - 22,500 € (16,762 USD – 25,143 USD)—Lot 1068: “Anglo-Chinese cabinet in black and gilded lacquer, m.1800.” It consists of two bodies, the upper one with two doors and drawers in different sizes and inside drawers, topped with a carved and golden crest with a large central shell. And the lower one is composed of five large drawers with ivory handles behind the doors. Measurements: 190 x 62 x 105 cm. Estimate: 10,000 € - 15,000 € (11,174 USD – 16,761 USD)—Lot 0799: “Commode in rosewood and fine Majorcan wood, Charles IV, late 18th century.” Lid with port scene. Restored. Measurements: 104 x 62 x 133 cm. Estimate: 8,000 €- 12,000 € (8,940 USD – 13,409 USD)—Lot 0868: “Chinese six-fold screen in black lacquer with gilded decoration, Dynasty Qing 19th century.” With decoration of character scenes and architecture works on the front and flowers with birds and insects on the back. Some imperfections. Measurements: 312 x 263 cm. Estimate: 7,000 € - 10,500 € (7,822 USD – 11,733 USD)— Lot 0869: “Mujer con Abanico carved in red coral, China first third of the 20th century.” With a rose branch in one hand and a fan in the other.
