Casio America Inc. recently announced the spotlight to be on piano legend, Josh Paxton for its Artist Program. It is no secret that the company is an innovator of electronic musical instruments, hence aims to bring to fore various musicians with different styles and unique backgrounds besides, of course, the talent. The program not just highlights the artists but also provides multiple levels of support that includes access to the best tools and technology. The initiative empowers the artists with proper gear. They can create music and can also perform while traveling or at home, as per Casio.“We are thrilled that Josh Paxton is part of the Casio Artist family,” said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument division, as per the official release from the brand. “Josh’s passion for music is infectious and we couldn’t be happier that he prefers to use our Privia PX-S3000 for performing.”Like every other artist, Paxton too got to lay his hands on his favorite instrument quite early in life, not to mention, he fell in love with it too. This encouraged him to pursue a jazz degree from the University of New Orleans. Once Paxton acquired his degree and trained with jazz patriarch Ellis Marsalis, to his surprise, he found himself to be popular and in demand as both a solo performer and sideman. His skilful music is a combination of New Orleans’ deep piano traditions clubbed with modern jazz twists, laced with classical technique, and skilled with a funky rhythmic drive. All this together help him get noticed in New Orleans. Paxton has toured, performed and recorded with various big and small artists like Wild Magnolias, the Cosmic Krewe, Li'l Queenie, Maria Muldaur, and Bruce Hornsby.“Currently, Paxton can regularly be heard accompanying jazz vocal great Debbie Davis; funk-rockers Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes; and bouzouki virtuoso Beth Patterson in ZouKeys. Paxton is also working on his next project, an album of duets, which is slated for release later this year. Although Paxton has used a number of Casio’s digital pianos and keyboards throughout his career, he is currently using the Privia PX-S3000 for performances and composition purposes,” says Casio.Paxton was quoted as saying in the release, “Casio's PX-S3000 is the most intuitive, road-friendly, and beautiful sounding keyboard I have experienced to date. It features dynamics that are unlike any other digital pianos on the market. They are easy to control and simply blow me away. Casio is truly in a class of its own!”Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the artist. https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
