An exhibition titled “Sustainable Thinking” is currently on view through March 8, 2020, at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, Palazzo Spini Feroni, Florence. The exhibition “Sustainable Thinking,” conceived by the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, focuses on offering food for thought on a crucial subject that will hold immense importance in the future. The exhibit will also provide insights for a change in model, limited, in terms of research, to the world of fashion and art, the sectors the museum is specialized in, as per Salvatore Ferragamo. This is also a fact that various artists have realized the importance of sustainable fashion and are indeed looking in this direction for some time. Some of these artists have already devoted themselves to restoring a more sensible relationship with nature. They have adopted ways to use organic materials or have found means for the creative reuse of materials, also called recycling or ‘upcycling.’ They are also looking at novel ways to establish a healthy relationship between nature and technology. Every member from the fashion fraternity has understood its importance and has vowed for collective commitment addressed to the regeneration of the social fabric as a whole.“The fashion industry, on its part, not only through the experimentation of a new generation of young designers, but also by means of innovative brands already consolidated on the market and situated in the luxury area, for several years now has been consciously facing the path of sustainability as a positive challenge capable of fulfilling needs, but also of offering new opportunities for responsible innovation to its sophisticated international clientele,” says Salvatore Ferragamo. For the brand, investing towards the sustainable development is equivalent to believing that the employing of innovative materials, the relationship with the territory, the desired focus to the environment and to people around are the prerequisite elements for success. Salvatore Ferragamo represents the best possible way to completely respect the strong values conveyed by its founder, right from the 1920s, whose work philosophy itself was to experiment with natural and unconventional materials and for him his valuable customer’s physical and psychological well-being was of utmost importance. The exhibition thus falls within the multiple activities that place the Maison Ferragamo is the avant-garde among the luxury brands that have embraced transparency and ethics, as per the brand.Materials including the artworks, and clothing, some recent and some specifically created for the occasion, are on display.Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition. https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
